USA! USA!

A bit late for a July 4th post, but my birthday was on Saturday, so I'll do what I want :P

I'm pretty sure the whole Red, White, and Blue color scheme was nabbed from the British because the founding fathers thought it looked pretty, but I'm not going to complain! There's just something so classic about the trio that even when it's not Pro-America Day, I still find myself gravitating to it.

Of course, that could also be my undying loyalty and patriotism putting a burning in my bosom that can only be extinguished (or set ablaze, I'm not picky) by decking myself out like a Jackson Polock version of the American flag.

About the Look

Naturally, as a July 4th outfit, I had to go with the classic RWB. The shirt is actually two shirts: a sleeveless cotton tunic I got for free by stealing it from my mom, and a spandex undershirt that I've had since before I can remember. I'm pretty sure I've written about that shirt before; it's a staple in my closet.

The pants are a recent acquisition from Walmart - a pair of $14 elastic waist jeggings. I'll tell you what, I absolutely hated the idea of elastic pants as a kid, but now that I'm older (and fatter) they're like mana from heaven!

My vest is one you have seen before and will see again; it's my Moms for America Battle Uniform. The bling is fun and pretty, and the vest itself is blue denim, add on the RWB blingy logo on the back, and how could I refuse? Because I work on the national MFA team (and because nepotism) I got my vest for free, but they will soon be available in denim or black on the MFA store for...$80, I think?

My shoes are also denim, and as comfortable as they are cute :) I don't wear them too often, though, because with anything else, they just don't jive. Too much denim with jeans, not enough denim with no other denim present. But since they're the same shade as the vest, it this outfit demanded nothing less.

Lastly, let's talk accessories. I can't remember what necklace I was wearing here - probably something with a star on it - but the earrings I got as a gift at a Pro-America event somewhere in time, so unfortunately, I can't tell you how much they were or where they came from. The purse, I absolutely adore. It's licensed Avengers merch from Universal Studios, and the six gems on the chain are the infinity stones from the MCU (insert nerd scream here). It's roomy and well made, but quite pricy at $80. I got mine from my mom as an early birthday present, but I probably would have bought it anyway if I'd had the money myself.

Also, fun fact. The first time I wore this purse out, I took my niece ice skating, and the blue infinity stone fell out of its casing while we were in the bathroom. I put the stone in my purse so I could fix it when I got home but only took a few steps before my niece tugged my hand and pointed to something on the floor. It was the blue gem! I put it in my purse again, and we went out to put on our skates. I put my purse in the locker and turned around, and there was the blue gem on the floor again! I picked it up and put it in my purse again, this time putting it in the inner zipper pocket, where it graciously stayed put. It wasn't until I got home that I had the chance to look up which infinity stone was blue (though I was pretty sure I already knew), and you guessed it: blue is the space stone!

Sometimes, coincidence is truly magical :P
