Happy Birthday to Me!

I freaking love my birthday. I love it so much, I don't just have a birthday, I have a birthmonth. I blame my birthday narcissism on my mother, who told me when I was a child that the 4th of July fireworks were being shot off for me. That does something to a kid, I'm just saying.

This year, I was traveling the whole month of July, and I'm currently in Floriday in a lonely hotel room working furiously to finish book 4 of my series, which I told my publisher I would have ready today (sorry Steve ^ - ^;), but it's still my birthday, and I'm going to rock it!

About the Look

I absolutely adore this dress. I found it yesterday at the Belks behind my hotel when I went out to scavenge lunch. Princess seams are always so flattering that I couldn't help myself! Fortunately, it was 75% off, which came out to only $17. The hat is the same white hat I've been wearing in the pictures where I have on a white hat, and the belt I got from Walmart for $5 on sale about ten years ago.

My shoes were a struggle because I absolutely adore gladiator wedges, but the last pair I had died a glorious death after three years of supporting me (dad joke), and it seems gladiator wedges are very much not in style this year. I looked everywhere to find a pair to replace my old ones ($10 at Payless when they were going out of business), and the only place I could find them was Amazon. For $65. It hurt. Oh, did it ever hurt. But those old gladiator wedges were a summer staple in my closet, and so many of my outfits demand them, so I bit the bullet and paid $65 for these Rockport sandals. It was worth it, though because they're not just cute, they're extremely comfortable.

Like my shoes, the crenoline I have on came from Amazon. Unlike my shoes, it was only $11 from...Grace Kelly? That seems wrong (and yes, I know Grace Kelly was an actress), but it also seems right? So I guess it's something close to that. Either way, you can find them super cheap on Amazon at any time of the year. Just make sure you get the longer crinoline because the short ones make your dresses look like tutus. Unless you're into that; I try not to judge ;P

Lastly, my jewelry. I have on a matching butterfly earrings and necklace set that I bought (separately) from Clair's with their usual buy-three-get-three. They are adorable, and I love them.
