Stars and Stripes Above

In case you haven't noticed, I'm a bit of a patriot. My dad was 25-years in the Air Force before he retired in...2015? I'm not sure. And my mom runs a national organization that's all about teaching moms about liberty, justice, and the American way (my mom is Superman?!), so it's kind of expected that Red, White, and Blue is a staple color in my wardrobe.

You also may not have noticed that I'm a fan of layering. Even, apparently, in the humid, hot summer. Of course, in this case, I was about to leave on a 10-hour road trip to Texas, so the layers were more of an inside thing :)

About the Look

We have an eclectic mix of Walmart and Logo here. My undershirt was $5 from the Juniors section of Walmart's women's department while the jeggings were $12 from the normal women's side. My purse, you saw a few weeks back, it's a $25 Tommy Hilfiger will room for days, and my shoes are the same $20 GBG Los Angeles I always wear. (Both came from Burlington, if you've forgotten).

The staple of this outfit, however, is the overshirt. I got it $20 on sale from the brand Patriotic Me, and I bought it two sizes too big on purpose. I also altered it because I can't stand crewnecks. I ended up cutting the neck way too wide, so I definitely need to wear an undershirt, but I think it pairs perfectly with the star-spangled undershirt, so I'm not disappointed :)
