Like an Ouroboros devouring its own tail, Kaleia has spent the last eight years in a standstill. Unable to take the risk and move forward, she hides in plain sight by living a normal life. Or as normal a life as she can. But when her Uncle Jeran reappears after a years-long absence, mortally wounded and with an unknown boy in tow, the decision is taken out of her hands.

Now the sole caretaker for a damaged child on the run from the same deranged scientists who stole her life, Kaleia has to depend on the kindness and mercy of the Blade hired to take the renegade pair across the worlds to an unknown destination. Unfortunately, Time has other plans, and She's not on their side.
